Although, many people, either, are elected, selected, and/ or, ascend to positions of leadership, we often, witness, a genuine dearth of quality, effective leaders! Often, what differentiates our finest leaders, from the rest - of - the - pack, is, the greatest leader, always, seeks to put, those he serves and represents, FIRST! In order to do so, one must combine, a positive, can - do, attitude, a well - developed, relevant, skill - set and aptitude, and a desire, to make a difference, for the better, for his group, and stakeholders. With that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means, and represents, and why, it's so important.
1. Face facts; future; furnish; fruition: You can't ignore reality, or proceed, with rose - colored, glasses, when it's necessary to realistically, face the facts, evaluate them, and plan, effectively, for the future! How one furnishes, meaningful leadership, and follows - through, in order to bring the best direction, to fruition, differentiates the best leader, from the rest - of - the - pack!
2. Ideas; integrity; ideology; imagination; innovate: Evaluate a potential leader, by the quality, and relevance of his ideas! True leaders maintain the utmost, genuine integrity, even when, it may be easier, to take a path, of least resistance! One must align his perceptions, with the ideology of the organization, and possess, a relevant imagination, so he may innovate, when needed, and necessary!
3. Relevant; reliable; responsible; responsive: If an idea isn't relevant, it becomes, little more than, empty rhetoric! One must proceed, with a focus on reliable leadership, responsible direction, and prioritizing, being responsive to the needs and priorities/ perceptions of the group, and his constituents!
4. Strengths/ stronger; sustainable; solutions; service: Only when service is put first, and a leader effectively uses his strengths, to make the group stronger, better, more relevant and sustainable, will the emphasizing on seeking quality, viable solutions, to address, the best focus!
5. Time - tested; trust; trends; timely: If you hope to lead, study, learn, discover, and use, time - tested approaches, instead of merely, the same - old, same - old ways! How one earns the trust, is based, on aligning relevant trends, and proceeding, in a well - considered, timely manner, instead of resorting to procrastination!
