Beware: Elected Officials Are Mere HUMANS!

Expert Author Richard Brody
We live in a world, and a society, where, far too many of us, idolize others, not because of their purposes, priorities, and value to our nation, and world, but, based on, either, their often - empty, rhetoric and promises, and position in life! It's important to realize, and beware, these political leaders, and/ or, elected officials, are mere HUMANS, instead of anointed, idols! If we are to, some day, be served and represented by the quality of leaders, we need and deserve, instead of electing/ choosing people, based on perceptions, etc, it's essential to realize, even the best of them, are merely, people, who are devoted to serving society, as a priority, instead of populism, or believing they are super - humans! With that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means and represents, and why it matters.
1. Healing; humane; head/ heart: Avoid any individual, who polarizes, instead of unifies, and proceeds, in an adversarial manner! Great political leaders emphasize healing the wounds, and bringing people, together, for the common good, by seeking a meaningful, meeting - of - the - minds! This requires choosing someone, who effectively uses, the finest aspects of their logical and emotional components, in a head/ heart balance!
2. Usual/ unusual; unique; useful; urge: Examine, what unique qualities and aspects, potential leaders, possess, and how, they might handle, both, the usual, as well as unusual obstacles, which they may have to address! Is their message, and focus, a useful one, and do they urge others, towards the principles, which have made America, a great nation?
3. Motivate; make mark; mention; merit: Why might someone, merit, holding an important position/ office? Does he articulate a message, which motivates, in a positive manner, or is he divisive, and self - serving? How will he make his mark, for the better? Is he willing to mention, the help and assistance of others, in a grateful, gracious manner, or, is his message, always, all, about him?
4. Attitude; attention; articulate: We are always better served, by individuals, with a real, positive, can - do, attitude, who seeks answers, in an attentive way! He is ready, willing, and capable of paying keen attention, to the details, and options/ alternatives, with an open - mind? Pay attention to the message, he articulates, to determine, whether he will consider obstacles, as challenges, instead of problems!
5. Needs: Whose needs, will someone serve? Avoid anyone, whose personal/ political agenda, and self - interest, appears to come first!
6. Service; solutions; strengthens; sustainable: Leadership must emphasize service, and quality, viable solutions, which strengthen, constituents, and our nation, consistently! Ideas must be well - considered, relevant, and sustainable, and seek pragmatic, idealistic, viable solutions!
Don't idolize elected officials, because they are mere HUMANS! Vote, based on qualifications, ideas, and focus!
